Pertussis vaccines required for Washoe seventh-graders
The Washoe County School District is reminding parents that all incoming seventh-graders must be immunized against pertussis (whooping cough) before they will be allowed to attend school this fall. Under state law, seventh-graders are required to receive a “T-dap” (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) vaccine. Free immunizations for all students will be available at a Back to School Fair on Saturday, August 18 from noon to 5 p.m. at Legends Sparks Marina.
